PROFILE MEASURING SYSTEM - PMG
The figure shows the sensor for the measuring of rail cross-sections using 4 lasers (red) and 4 cameras (green). The measurements to be determined are height of rail, width of rail, but also values usually hard to measure such as the cross sectional area. NextSense has put into operation this profile measuring device (PMG - Profile Measurement Gauge) various times and world-wide. We offer specific product know-how for the measuring of rails, steel beams (also in blazing condition) and turbine blades.

Measuring of profiles
Advantages:
- High accuracy: A new calibration method allows still higher accuracy.
- Flexible measuring rules: Commonly used profile measuring systems are often accompanied by rigid, in computer programs formulated, rules which are needed to assess the measured values. On the basis of a CAD interface, new rules can be established in a dynamic way, even by the customer himself.
Customer Value:
- Simple and accurate: In comparison to the competition, the profile measuring system offers the same accuracy but needs fewer and cheaper sensors (= camera-laser-units). This leads to lower hardware costs and also saves operational costs (expenses for required maintenance and spare parts).
